I bought this as a birthday gift for an 8 year old girl in my son's class. Both she and her mom were thrilled with this. It's a great little starter set and a perfect transition from some of the early reading chapter books into larger chapter books. These are classics that will most likely be around for many years to come. My son is just starting on the Hardy boys and has even expressed an interest in ready Nancy Drew too!Pros:Cheaper to buy in a set than as individual booksMakes a great giftCardboard set holder keeps books together.Set was plastic wrapped with a price sticker on it. The sticker removed very easily with no sticky residue left and no pull marks in the plastic. The best I have seen for sticker removal!Cons - although they did not take away from the rating:Graphics on the covers seems datedGraphics on the holder is bland and cheap lookingOverall, some timeless classics for young readers.
