Wow! Five albums and 8 discs, each bursting at the seams with great music. Where the cd had room, another remix was given. I think I paid less than 25 dollars for this! For your money, you will not find a better deal than this superb set.But more importantly; the music. You are already familiar with at least some it. Remember "Hold Me Now" and "Doctor! Doctor!" From "Into The Gap"? ITG had half a dozen songs that were hits somewhere; it was a brilliant record and now I have it on cd with tons of b-sides, remixes, and additional cuts."Here's To Future Days" was also a great album. It included the wonderful "Lay Your Hands On Me". The Thompson Twins wrote such fun and addictive pop songs that you often didn't realize the romanticism of the lyrics. Nile Rogers was brought in to help produce this one, and the bonus mixes and b-sides are a real treat. I especially like the bonus track "Roll Over" which has become one of my favorites."Quick Step & Side Kick" is the record before ITG and before Thompson Twins became internationally successful. It had some chart success in America and many fans feel it is the best Thompson Twin record. Again, we are given a feast of great "bonus tracks".To be honest, the first two albums "A Product Of ... Paricipation" and "Set" are a bit hit and miss for me. They are a portrait of a group discovering who they are. We see Tom, Alannah and Lee as their talent grows, and they emerge as the most successful and best remembered incarnation of the Thompson Twins. (For you trivia fans, Thomas Dolby played keyboards on "Set".)"In The Name Of Love" came from "Set" but is not representative of the Thompson Twins music at the time. Still, there are delightful surprises to be found on both of these records, even if they are not the masterpieces that "Quick Step" "The Gap" and "Future Days" are. (In my opinion, anyway)Despite the weaker first two discs, the other six discs are so fun, generous, and well done, that this set easily merits five stars. If you remember enjoying the Thompson Twins in the 80's, I highly recommend this set. The music has held up amazingly well, and the sound quality is incredible, at least on my various players. With 3,000 cd's, this is one of my favorite musical purchases EVER.
