I recently built a complete playground with 6x6 post support cemented 2.5 feet in the ground for better stability. I was looking to build some monkey bars and stay with the 6x6 posts tying the slide deck into the swing support and opposite end monkey bars to lock the foundation of the swing not to move when it is used.. These are the longest monkey bars that I have found thus far and seem great for children 8 and under, however for my project I needed more distance between the posts to allow for a more comfortable fit climbing up between 2 6x6 posts to grab onto the monkey bars, so I bought an extension ladder and separated the 2 pieces & used one part of it for the base of the monkey bars. Drilled holes on each side of the ladder and mounted it to 2 - 2x8s, one on each side then bolted the 2x8s to the 6x6s & had plenty of room for them to climb and play with a sturdy weight limit
